About the Role The Field Service Technician will support the Field Service Organization (FSO) in deploying, optimizing, and repairing highly technical mission-critical digital mobile communication systems for Government & Public Safety customers. This remote role is on-call 24/7/365 to support mission-critical systems and may require frequent travel throughout Minnesota and surrounding states; MN residency is preferred. What You'll Do
- Provide technical support for specialized systems and product applications, including advanced troubleshooting of software-driven electronics, provisioning communication system infrastructure, and optimizing RF and broadband architecture (legacy analog, P25, data).
- Maintain, optimize, test, document, and support complex communication systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance routines with trend analysis to ensure proper operation.
- Develop solutions for difficult technical problems during maintenance, upgrades, or support.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Sales, and Customer Service to maintain, optimize, and support systems meeting customer expectations.
- Deliver strong knowledge of wired communication systems such as LAN/WAN.
- Gain experience with logging/recording systems, RF interfaces, wired/wireless systems, and networking equipment.
- Possess unique combinations of RF and computer networking skills across multi-site environments.
- Provide weekly activity reports.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office and Motorola Radio Programming Software suite.
- Capable of maintaining server hardware/OS and software infrastructure and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
- Demonstrate strong self-management and interpersonal skills to work with customers, MSS partners, Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Customer Service teams.
- Be self-motivated to perform duties with minimal supervision.
- Be able to quickly solve customer problems during stressful situations. What We're Looking For
- Experience with P25 Systems, LMR RF systems, wired/wireless communication systems, networking equipment, IT networks, and subscriber equipment.
- Very strong knowledge of LAN/WAN.
- Knowledge of standard telephony and dedicated data circuits; knowledge of packet-switching techniques.
- Highly computer literate with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
- Strong self-management and "people" skills to work with customers and subcontractor partner community and Motorola teams.
- Self-motivated and self-managed to operate away from direct supervision.
- Ability to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations.
- Knowledge of configuration and testing of channel banks, routers, hubs, and switches.
- Ability to develop and present technical training; experience integrating new tools and solutions into operations.
- Proven experience with equipment used in optimizing/testing Motorola systems (Communications Systems Analyzers, Power Sensors and Watt Meters, TIMS sets, CPS, RSS, Antenna Systems Analyzers (FDRs), T1 test sets, etc.).
- Experience in configuration and testing of Motorola two-way radio and subscriber products.
- FCC license and ETA certifications are a plus. Nice to Have

- Target Base Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 USD.
