Job title: Field Service Technician Level 2
About the Role The Field Service Technician Level 2 will be responsible for start-up and commissioning of projects, preventative maintenance, and basic submersible wastewater pump (Flygt) and control panel troubleshooting at customer sites. Product-specific training will be provided, and you will interact with customers to ensure reliable water solutions.
What You'll Do
- Perform start-ups and commissioning of projects and train customers on equipment
- Evaluate, repair, and conduct hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical testing of submersible wastewater pumps
- Troubleshoot electrical control panels; understand schematics and wiring diagrams
- Perform preventative maintenance and respond to emergency callouts
- Operate a service truck with crane and out-riggers; operate shop equipment such as forklift and overhead cranes as needed
- Maintain accurate records in Xylem’s work order management system
- Create and maintain a safe and organized working environment and protect company property
- Work in a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively with customers
What We're Looking For
- HS diploma or equivalent; 2–5 years of technical/mechanical work experience
- Experience with water/wastewater systems preferred
- Electrically and mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting ability
- Ability to comprehend technical information and communicate it clearly
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and smart devices
- Able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screen
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and work at customer locations
Nice to Have
- Backgrounds in HVAC, electrical work, plumbing, diesel and mechanical systems, or construction are encouraged to apply
Compensation & Benefits
- The estimated salary range starts at $36/hour. Starting pay depends on factors such as skills, experience and location
