About the Role The Field Service Technician I is based in the Seattle area and is responsible for delivering high-quality customer service, performing preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of Hach instruments at customer sites. This role involves extensive travel (up to 75% overnight) across municipal and industrial facilities and supports Veralto's mission to safeguard water quality. What You'll Do
- Perform preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation using established company standard work.
- Promote a positive customer experience and serve as on-site customer contact for technical and service-related problems.
- Work in a wide variety of municipal and industrial settings, including drinking water & wastewater treatment facilities, refineries, chemical manufacturing plants, food & beverage processing facilities, etc. Some applications may involve instrument servicing in NEC hazardous locations (Class I Division 2).
- Submit prompt, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure.
- Follow safe work practices according to company policy.
- Execute administrative activities in support of service visits.
- This role will be based in the Seattle area and supports customers throughout the territory with daily travel to sites and up to 75% overnight stays. Company-paid travel, accommodations, and meals are provided for overnight stays. What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a travel-based field service and/or customer-facing roles strongly preferred.
- HS Diploma required; Associates/technical degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
- Basic mechanical aptitude is a must; experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics/repair is helpful but not required.
- A valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to rent a car and/or hotel rooms under applicable state law.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% overnight. Nice to Have
- Experience servicing instruments in NEC hazardous locations (Class I Division 2) is a plus. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $29.00 - $31.00 USD per hour. This role is eligible for Incentive Pay.
