Field Service Technician - Essex County

About the Role Motorola Solutions is seeking a Field Service Technician to support Public Safety customers in northern New York. This field role requires traveling to Essex County and nearby sites to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize mission-critical radio and communication systems. The technician will collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, and Sales teams to ensure peak performance and customer satisfaction. What You'll Do

• Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with focus on trend analysis and documentation of results.
• Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered during maintenance, upgrades or support issues.
• Provide weekly activity reports and maintain documentation for RF and network systems.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management and Sales personnel to effectively maintain, optimize and support advanced communication systems.
• Optimize and support complex communication systems and software applications, including troubleshooting of software-driven electronics, provisioning of communication system infrastructure and performance optimization of RF and broadband systems.
• Deliver knowledge of RF systems (transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks) and standard telephony and dedicated data circuits.
• Maintain, test and document complex communications systems and deliver customer-focused service. What We're Looking For
• 2+ years of experience in LMR, RF systems, Radio Communications, IT Systems, Public Safety, Networking equipment or related fields; or an Associate degree in Electronics or IT (preferred).
• Ability to obtain background clearance as required by government customers.
• Willingness to travel 25-50% and reside in northern New York or commute to Essex County, NY.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; valid driver’s license with no major violations.
• Proficiency in computer networks, LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls and related equipment.
• Strong self-management and “people” skills to work with customers, MSS community and internal teams. Nice to Have
• Security+ or CompTIA or related certification.
• 2-year Associate Degree in Electronics or IT (preferred). Compensation & Benefits
• Target Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 USD (annual).
