Job title: Field Service Team Leader - Batteries and Chargers
About the Role The Field Service Team Leader will oversee the servicing, maintenance and repair of industrial batteries and chargers, leading a Field Service Team to deliver high-quality service while ensuring safety and compliance. This role combines people leadership, technical expertise, and financial/operational management to meet department goals.
What You'll Do
- Manage the Field Service Team, provide coaching, performance feedback, and HR practices including bi-annual appraisals and timely payroll data submission while maintaining employee morale.
- Plan and carry out routine maintenance checks on-site, ensure spare parts availability, and liaise with customers; diagnose faults and inform the Service Coordinator and customer of ETA; rectify faults and ensure safe machine operation and customer satisfaction.
- Provide technical assistance, coaching, and on-the-job training to Field Service Team members; drive service quality and address training gaps.
- Manage financials for the team in line with budget and department objectives: WIP, service scheduling, debtors, profitability of maintenance contracts, warranty processing, service agreement growth, labor recovery, chargeable sales, GP/contribution, overheads, and vehicle/tool inspections; perform service quality checks.
- Ensure OHSACT, ASEC and environmental regulations are met on both own and customer premises.
- Drive customer service excellence by building strong internal and external relationships, delivering timely feedback, and meeting CSI targets.
- Grow the aftermarket customer base by visiting existing and new customers for service or maintenance contracts.
