About the Role Motorola Solutions is seeking a Field Service Representative in Idstein, Germany to deliver field operations technical support for Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems within the US Federal Government Markets Division’s programs across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The role supports DoD customers and requires hands-on installation, maintenance and customer-facing service delivery. What You'll Do

  • Provide Field Operations technical support to U.S. Army, U.S. Air Forces & U.S. Navy Enterprise LMR networks in Europe and surrounding regions.
  • Perform installations and removals of trunked and conventional LMR systems; support locations including Germany, Belgium, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Africa and Greece.
  • Maintain, program, optimize, troubleshoot and repair radio repeaters, portable radios, mobile radios, base stations and dispatch/communications consoles and all related subscriber equipment for trunked and conventional LMR.
  • Manage escalated customer issues; communicate project updates and report scope changes to the supervisor.
  • Provide on-site response, infrastructure equipment repair and local technical support; deliver user refresher training for subscribers and trunked radio infrastructure.
  • Support Service Level Agreements (SLA) and prepare administrative/one-time reports requested by management and/or the CSM.
  • Operate and document repairs, calibrations and returns using the FSED automated MCM Comm Shop 360 system or its replacement.
  • Provide on-site preventive maintenance service and on-site support for Motorola ASTRO 25 LMR systems.
  • Ensure compliance with security requirements related to program and customer engagements. What We're Looking For
  • Certified technician or equivalent qualification in industrial engineering or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Motorola Solutions P25 Trunking Network Systems and general RF/communications systems.
  • Ability to interface with customer technical representatives and provide direct or indirect technical support.
  • Solid working knowledge of Motorola radio systems and their customer applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/spoken English communication skills; sound judgment and decision-making.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well in a team environment; flexible as situations warrant.
  • At least 3 years of RF experience; strong RF theory knowledge.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Google tools; experience with hardware and software RF/Networking tools.
  • Ability to obtain U.S. government security clearance and complete related forms (e.g., SF-86).
  • In possession of one or more certifications such as CompTIA Network+/Security+, MCSE or CISSP. Nice to Have
  • Additional professional certifications beyond the minimum requirements (e.g., higher-level networking or security certifications).
