Field Service Engineer

Do you want to work hands-on with advanced electrical, automation, and digital solutions at customer sites?

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Field Service Engineer at Siemens Energy, you will work with advanced electrical, automation, and digital solutions. Your assignments will include commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and technical support at customer sites, and no two days will be the same.

Working closely with colleagues and customers, you will help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of customer equipment and systems. You will support service and project activities involving technologies such as drives, power systems, PLCs, HMIs, networks, UPS systems, and digital solutions. The work may be performed independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team, both in Norway and internationally.

Whether you are an experienced professional or a recent graduate, you will have the opportunity to develop your technical skills, take responsibility in the field, and make a real impact for our customers.

What You Bring We are looking for someone with a background in electrical engineering, automation, or a related technical field. You may be an engineer or technician with relevant experience from field service, commissioning, maintenance, industrial automation, power systems, energy, offshore, or other technically demanding environments.

To succeed in this role, you:

  • Have an education in electrical engineering, automation, or a related discipline
  • Have relevant experience or a strong interest in field service, commissioning, troubleshooting, industrial automation, drives, or power systems
  • Have good communication skills in both Norwegian and English, written and verbal
  • Are comfortable working independently at customer sites while also collaborating in cross-functional teams
  • Work systematically and safely, with a strong customer focus and willingness to travel

You must expect about 80-100 travel days a year.

How You’ll Make an Impact

You will play a key role in delivering reliable solutions to customers by preparing and carrying out service assignments, commissioning equipment and systems, identifying and resolving technical issues, documenting completed work, and providing clear recommendations and support to customers and internal teams.

We provide relevant product, system, and field service training through our training centers and specialist environments. Our employees have a varied and challenging working day, with strong opportunities to develop professionally in a supportive team environment.

About the Team

You will be part of a collaborative service organization that supports customers throughout the life cycle of their equipment and systems. The team combines technical expertise, practical field experience, and close customer cooperation to deliver safe, efficient, and reliable service. You will work with colleagues across disciplines and locations and contribute to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and high-quality execution at customer sites.
