Job title: Field Service Engineer
About the Role As Field Service Engineer at GEA (Wommelgem), you install, maintain and troubleshoot pharmaceutical process equipment at customer sites worldwide. You will perform service interventions, preventive maintenance and repairs, and work on optimizations to ensure reliable operation of machines. Training will be provided both internally and on-site with colleagues.
What You'll Do
- Independently perform service interventions at customers worldwide, ensuring fast and high-quality maintenance, repairs and optimizations of installations in the Pharma Solid Dosage sector
- Install and commission pharmaceutical process equipment at customer sites
- Diagnose and repair faults using technical schematics, documentation and customer information
- Perform preventive maintenance and replace vulnerable components to minimize downtime
- Prepare and execute service interventions, including customer and internal team coordination
- Report activities to project or service responsible, including creating service reports, checklists, calibration reports and meticulous time recording
- Contribute to process improvements by providing feedback and analyzing recurring technical issues
- Ensure safety procedures are followed and advise customers on preventive measures and efficient equipment use
- Collaborate with Service Account Managers and fellow Field Service Engineers to develop local service capabilities and achieve service KPIs
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor Elektromechanica or equivalent experience
- Experience and/or strong interest in machine construction, process engineering, electronics, control engineering and mechanics
- Independent, analytical and solution-oriented with a hands-on mentality
- Service-minded and strong communicator with a commercial affinity
- Flexible and stress-resistant, willing to travel internationally frequently
- Fluent in Dutch and English; French and Spanish are a plus
