Job title: Field Service and Inventory Technician
About the Role Xylem is seeking a Field Service and Inventory Technician to support field service operations and inventory/warehouse functions at the Fort Lauderdale, FL location. The role is approximately 50% field-based and 50% warehouse-focused, helping install, service, and maintain water purification equipment while ensuring material readiness for the service teams.
What You'll Do
- Install, service, troubleshoot, and maintain water treatment and purification equipment at customer sites.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs.
- Identify and resolve potential safety concerns at customer locations.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism in a customer-facing role.
- Accurately document service activities using Microsoft Office tools and smart devices.
- Participate in a compensated on-call rotation with occasional afternoons/weekends.
- Receive, inspect, stock, and organize parts, tools, and water treatment equipment in the warehouse.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through tracking, cycle counts, and system updates.
- Pick, stage, and prepare materials and equipment for scheduled field service jobs.
- Coordinate inventory replenishment and communicate material needs with service and operations teams.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
- Load and unload service vehicles as needed to support daily operations.
- Equipment-specific training will be provided; prior technical, mechanical, plumbing, warehouse, or inventory experience is strongly encouraged.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent; one year of work experience preferred; 1–2 years of technical experience preferred; industrial or commercial process water experience a plus.
- Warehouse, inventory control, or logistics experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to utilize smart devices.
- Ability to work in a high customer-facing role.
- Ability to identify and remedy potential safety concerns.
- Ability to lift, move, and handle equipment and materials in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, MVR, and DOT physical.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
