Pepsi Bottling Ventures is seeking a Field Safety Specialist II to join our team.

We make, sell, and distribute PepsiCo and more beverages. We have the exclusive rights to make, sell, and distribute directly to stores in our territory the world-renowned PepsiCo and Keurig Dr. Pepper beverages. These exclusive rights make up the vast majority of our business and cover certain counties across five states.

We also create our own beverages, producing and distributing them to our customers’ warehouses nationally. And we make, sell, and distribute to our customers’ warehouses a growing portfolio of beverages nationally. These beverages make up a small, but growing part of our business.

Field Safety Specialist II Role Overview

The Field Safety Specialist II serves as a subject matter expert for fleet and warehouse safety performance across PBV. This role leads division-specific fleet and warehouse safety initiatives for DSD, PBV-wide BES, and OTR operations. They are responsible for commercial fleet and PIT driving performance analytics, telematics, camera systems, regulatory compliance, training, coaching, program management, and continuous improvement.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Serve as DSD subject matter expert for all EHS programs.
  • Lead PBV-wide driving performance initiatives across DSD, BES, and OTR operations.
  • Develop and implement standardized driver coaching and remediation programs.
  • Respond to and conduct vehicle incident investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Conduct transportation and regulatory compliance audits.
  • Analyze driving safety metrics, scorecards and trends, and develop improvement strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate driver performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide coaching as necessary.
  • Implement EHS technological solutions across geographical territory.
  • Partner with operations leaders to advance key safety programs.
  • Perform regular safety audits and inspections of facilities and fleet.
  • Identify potential hazards and recommend improvements to enhance safety.
  • Mentor Field Safety Specialists and operational leaders.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years' experience in a fleet/safety position.
  • Commercial truck and forklift driving experience preferred.
  • Safety training experience preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
  • Pass a Motor Fleet Accident Investigation course.
  • Have extensive knowledge of US DOT/FMCSA regulations.
  • Knowledge of safety audit methodology.
  • Have safety program management experience.
  • Must not have more than two suspensions or other sanctions prohibiting the individual from operating motor vehicles within the previous three years.
  • Have effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Have leadership, interpersonal, and investigative skills.
  • Be able to display professionalism, tact, and discretion.
  • Ability to develop and execute action plans.
  • Have computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to lead a team in implementing key initiatives company-wide in relation to program management responsibilities.
