Field Operations Engineer

A proactive and technically skilled Field Operations Engineer is sought to coordinate contractor dispatch, job tracking, regional logistics, field quality assurance, and technical support within our Managed Network Services division. This role is based in Lagos and focuses on ensuring smooth field operations, timely delivery, and adherence to quality standards across multiple sites and projects.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch and coordinate contractors based on location, skills and availability
• Track field jobs and ensure timely completion through FSM/workforce management systems
• Manage regional spares inventory and coordinate replenishment
• Verify completed installations and ensure compliance with quality standards
• Coordinate fibre splicing, termination and OTDR testing activities
• Conduct periodic field quality audits and coordinate rework where required
• Onboard, train and support contractors on MNS standards and FSM tools
• Prepare daily dispatch reports and weekly regional performance summaries
• Coordinate with NOCC, PMO, SCM and contractors to resolve field constraints
• Manage materials, equipment delivery, pickups and returns

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Engineering, IT, Business Administration or a related field

• 3–5 years of experience in field operations, technical coordination or logistics

• Experience coordinating contractors or field technicians

• Background in telecommunications, IT infrastructure or technical services

• Experience with inventory/spares management

• Familiarity with fibre optic installation and OTDR testing

• Experience with FSM, workforce management or ticketing systems

• Good knowledge of LAN, Wi-Fi and structured cabling

• Ability to interpret technical diagrams and installation guides

• Mandatory Certification

• At least one of the following:

• • CompTIA Network+ or equivalent

• • MikroTik MTCNA

• • CFOS/T or equivalent fibre certification

• Desirable: Cisco CCNA, PMP/PRINCE2 Foundation, ITIL v4, Supply Chain/Logistics or Project Coordination certification.
