Field Engineer – Utility Scale Solar

About this role

About the Role SEYSES is looking for a Field Engineer to provide on-site technical support during the construction and commissioning of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across the United States. You will ensure construction activities comply with drawings, specifications, and safety and quality standards, working closely with the Construction Manager and project team. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable in fast-paced construction environments.

What You'll Do

  • Provide on-site engineering support during construction activities
  • Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Verify field activities align with project requirements and approved designs
  • Perform daily site inspections and document construction progress
  • Identify technical issues and support corrective actions
  • Assist with quality inspections and testing activities
  • Prepare daily field reports and maintain project documentation
  • Support commissioning and start-up activities
  • Coordinate technical information between site and engineering teams
  • Assist with punch list management and project close-out documentation
  • Ensure compliance with company and client HSE requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Field Engineer, Site Engineer, or similar technical role
  • Experience in utility-scale solar, wind, BESS, or industrial construction projects
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel extensively within the United States

Nice to Have

  • Experience with one or more of the following: Utility-scale Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), High Voltage Substations
  • Commissioning activities
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • AutoCAD
  • Procore or Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • Experience working with EPC contractors
