About the Role The ECH Field Engineer will implement and support Motorola’s Emergency Call Handling (ECH) solutions, including on-premise and cloud-hosted environments, with a strong emphasis on site design, configuration, testing, cutover, and post-cut support. This role requires remote work with substantial travel (>75%) across the US. What You'll Do
- Perform system configuration for all supported ECH solutions, including hybrid cloud and SaaS-based applications.
- Conduct site verification testing prior to production cutover.
- Configure and troubleshoot connectivity between local site infrastructure and cloud environments.
- Provide support to customers and channel partners during deployment.
- Document changes (cloud tenant configurations, API integrations) during implementation.
- Ensure installation/quality issues are resolved promptly.
- Participate in developing and approving Methods of Procedure (MOP) for cloud migrations and system upgrades.
- Engage in pre-contract presentations and customer negotiations as needed.
- Maintain subject matter expert skills in emerging cloud-native public safety technologies. What We're Looking For
- Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Software Engineering, or Technology and 3+ years of deployment/integration of complex IP products and systems.
- Experience with Cloud Platforms and deployment models (Azure, AWS, or private clouds).
- Cloud-based application troubleshooting (connectivity, latency, identity management/SSO-AD).
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals) preferred.
- CompTIA Network+ and Security+.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Server Virtualization (VMware ESXi v6+ and/or Hyper-V 2012+)
- Microsoft SQL Server (2008R2/2012/2016) and Windows Server (2008R2/2012R2)
- Workstations (Windows 7/10) and Linux
- Networking equipment (Cisco IOS), Firewalls/Routers (Fortinet FortiGate)
- Public Safety applications deployment experience is a plus.
- Ability to travel 75%+ and apply critical thinking to solve problems. Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s in Engineering, IT, Software Engineering, or Technology.
- Additional cloud certifications and hands-on cloud migration experience.
- In-depth exposure to public safety software deployments and integrations. Compensation & Benefits
- Target Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 USD.
