About the Role This field-based role covers the East Greenwich/Westerly, RI and Branford, CT area. You will execute brand strategy and tactics, drive field sales, manage assigned territory and accounts, and place patient needs at the center of AbbVie's efforts while complying with AbbVie policies and all applicable laws and regulations. What You'll Do
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals in your territory.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance.
- Effectively handle objections and close on sales calls while building trusted relationships.
- Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan to optimize coverage and frequency to key customers and maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments and disease/product knowledge; share insights with in-field team and brand/sales leadership.
- Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with health providers; identify disease state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience; 5+ years of relevant experience if no degree; 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven track record of selling success and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style and respond to changes; offers innovative ideas to maximize opportunities.
- Influences others, credible and respected among peers; builds collaborative partnerships with district teams and matrix partners; demonstrated leadership in roles with increasing responsibility.
- Strong knowledge in sales strategy and ability to operate in a matrix environment. Nice to Have
- Proven track record in sales within therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care or marketing preferred.
- English language proficiency (verbal and written).
- HCIR credentialing requirements are mandatory to gain access to applicable facilities. Compensation & Benefits
