About the Role The Teradyne Field Applications team is seeking a highly motivated Field Application Engineer to design, debug and deploy imaginative test solutions for complex semiconductor devices, collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams to optimize test throughput and quality. What You'll Do
- Develop, debug and deploy test solutions for Digital, High-Speed Digital, SoC, Mixed Signal and Analog devices on Teradyne ATE platforms.
- Lead test program software development in collaborative environments; contribute to instrument and test hardware integration.
- Review load board/probe card schematics and layouts for test solutions.
- Analyze problems and recommend solutions to optimize customer throughput and test coverage.
- Engage with test engineering customers to understand processes and drive improvements; release test solutions to production including handler/prober integration and R&R.
- Discover customer requirements across hardware, software and test cell integration; define electrical/mechanical HW schematics and PCB/HW design inputs for interface hardware.
- Develop new techniques and designs for characterizing/testing semiconductor devices; demonstrate tester capability for customer evaluations.
- Provide customer support on tester operation and capabilities; deliver training, technical exchanges and technical papers.
- Build strong customer relations at a technical level and stay abreast of ATE industry trends and competitive products. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
- 8–12 years of semiconductor testing experience; hands-on IC component testing and project development.
- Experience in Test/Product engineering for Digital, High-Speed Digital, High-Power Computing, SoC, Mixed Signal or Analog testing on ATE platforms.
- Preferred development experience on Teradyne or other ATE platforms (e.g., Teradyne UltraFlex/UltraFlexPlus/IG-XL, Eagle Test Systems/EV/EV-MST, Advantest V93K/SmarTest 7/8 or similar).
- Strong programming skills (.NET/C#, VB, C++, C, Java) and knowledge of common algorithms; proficient in Windows and Excel.
- Knowledge of load boards/handlers and prober interfaces is a plus; able to work independently and in teams with strong analytical and communication skills.
- Supervisory experience and ability to lead teams locally and globally; strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel 25%+ (domestic/international).

- Experience with the listed Teradyne/Electronics ATE platforms and additional test equipment.
- Additional software engineering or scripting experience relevant to automation and data analysis. Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: USD 170,500 – 272,800 per year.
