About the Role A Field Application Engineer at Avnet drives the design chain value proposition by generating design wins and supporting customers through product design, pre/post-sales activities, research, and development. What You'll Do
- Proactively develop and implement technical sales account penetration strategies in each market, presenting new products and technologies to current and potential customers; develop knowledge to uncover and compare solutions during pre-component selection.
- Participate in supplier/customer design reviews and maintain strong relationships with key technical decision makers and influencers in each account.
- Discover design requirements from system level to individual elements; collaborate with design/production/engineering to develop technical strategies.
- Market supported lines to the sales team; drive adoption of solutions with supplier partners to increase design activity, design wins, and sales growth.
- Provide general application and product-level sales training; align with sales team to secure business; communicate account calls with suppliers and inside sales.
- Identify and track largest design opportunities from concept to production; utilize supplier resources to maximize success.
- Create presentations and sales tools to convey technical value and become a trusted advisor to internal and external customers.
- Manage the product lifecycle from beginning to end with customer, sales, and vendors; stay informed on industry trends and directions.
- Attend internal and external technical training to maintain necessary certifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For
- Good understanding of customer needs related to product(s), technology, direction, competition, design process and cycle.
- Ability to identify and develop relationships with key technical decision makers and influencers; strong communication skills with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Experience in discovery of design requirements and development of technical strategies; capable of collaborating across engineering and production.
- Experience in technical sales, pre/post sales support, and market development; ability to drive design activity and sales growth.
- Comfortable creating presentations and training materials; ability to act as a trusted advisor.
