Fiber Engineer
About the Role
The Fiber Field Engineer will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining fiber optic systems for residential and commercial customers, including FTTH, Backbone, Fiber SME/Enterprise, and Fiber P2P. The role involves fieldwork, fiber splicing and testing, and ensuring network integrity and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and configure fiber optic cables and related equipment according to specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct field surveys and assessments for network expansion and new SME/Enterprise P2P client installations.
- Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic networks using OTDR, Power Meter, and VFL.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal network performance.
- Perform fiber splicing and testing using fusion splicers and OTDRs.
- Maintain accurate installation, repair, and maintenance records, including daily reports.
- Communicate with customers to explain services, resolve issues, and provide information on fiber optic services.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure customer satisfaction and timely service delivery.
- Adhere to safety protocols, industry standards, and company policies.
Requirements

Solid understanding of electrical systems and networks.

Knowledge of fiber optic telecommunications and data networks.

Experience setting up and testing fiber optic systems.
