Job title: Fertilizer Specialist
About the Role The Fertilizer Specialist applies chemicals to plants, trees, and grass to enhance growth and control weeds and pests. The role requires safety-focused chemical application, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with a team to deliver high-quality property care for Weller Brothers.
What You'll Do
- Acquire and store pesticide and herbicide solutions; mix or dilute chemicals according to directions and apply at the recommended rate.
- Stay up-to-date on chemical application regulations and techniques; maintain a valid state-specific chemical applicator license.
- Communicate with clients to maintain positive client/company relationships.
- Operate outdoor maintenance equipment, power tools, and motor vehicles as required.
- Perform moderately heavy physical labor daily and work in all weather conditions.
- Maintain records on chemical application activities in compliance with EPA, OSHA, and state/federal regulations.
- Install, adjust, and perform minor repairs on application equipment; train team members in applying sprays, dust, and other materials.
- Commit the hours necessary to get the job done; maintain clean appearance and adhere to dress code.
- Make decisions in the best interest of the company; assist in maintaining all Weller Brothers equipment; assist with winter snow removal; refer new team members for employment.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of one-year experience in industry or related field.
- Must be 18 years or older; High school diploma/GED.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record preferred.
- Strong communication skills; superior work ethic.
- Ability to manage and train new team members; detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Timely input of hours on LMN software to ensure accurate payroll processing.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail; hold team members accountable for punctuality and proper care of tools and equipment.
