Baker Tilly is seeking a Federal Tax Senior Associate to deliver industry-focused tax advisory and compliance services to middle-market clients. This role offers opportunities for career growth, autonomy, and meaningful client and team relationships.
Provide tax compliance and advisory services to S-corporations, partnerships, individuals and corporations ranging from middle market to multinational companies. Participate in tax research projects, help draft IRS responses, and address other tax authority inquiries. Collaborate with leaders on special projects in corporate and flow-through taxation (e.g., accounting methods and ASC 740). Develop recommendations for clients and share with leadership to discuss and strategize. Communicate with specialty tax practices on complicated matters in state/local, international, credits and incentives. Learn and grow through on-the-job coaching and firm-wide learning programs. Network and build relationships internally and with clients using entrepreneurial skills. Support the growth and development of team members through Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy. Engage in social activities and team events that promote work-life balance.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree (4-year); 3 years of experience in federal tax compliance and consulting. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in accounting or law or related field, with sufficient coursework to sit for CPA and/or Bar; CPA or JD license preferred. 2+ years of experience providing federal tax compliance and consulting services in a public accounting firm. Demonstrated skills in time management, communication, interpersonal relations, relationship building, and collaboration.
CPA or JD license preferred. Industry focus or specialization experience in tax (state/local, international, R&D credits & incentives) is a plus.
