About the Role

Join Baker Tilly as a Federal Tax Partner in the National Real Estate Practice. You will lead federal tax advisory and compliance for real estate clients, mentor staff, and contribute to the growth and ownership path of the firm.

What You'll Do

  • Be a trusted leader of Baker Tilly's tax services providing federal tax compliance and consulting for construction and real estate clients.
  • Lead client relationships on day-to-day tax matters, ranging from middle-market to multinational.
  • Advise on technical matters in corporate and flow-through taxation, accounting methods, and ASC 740; research and respond to IRS inquiries; provide client recommendations.
  • Coordinate with specialty tax practices on state and local taxes, high net worth, international, credits and incentives.
  • Oversee federal and individual tax planning; review complex tax research for business transactions across entities and affiliates; propose improvements.
  • Manage client engagement staffing, billing, collections, and ensure profitability targets are met; network to acquire new clients and projects; participate in RFPs.
  • Collaborate with service line leadership on market positioning, branding, strategy, and messaging.
  • Invest in professional development and support the growth and development of team members; assist with recruiting.
  • Demonstrate leadership, initiative, and high ethical standards; represent the firm at community events and firm functions.

  • Expert in tax with real estate clients and strong technical expertise servicing the real estate industry.
  • Passion for real estate tax and for contributing to team professional growth.
  • Ability to work in a leading CPA advisory firm with growth opportunities and ownership potential.
  • Experience in corporate and flow-through taxation, ASC 740; ability to handle complex tax research.
  • Strong client relationship management, business development, and networking skills.
  • Leadership, initiative, teamwork, and high ethical standards.

Nice to Have

  • Ownership experience or interest in ownership opportunities.
  • Experience coordinating across specialty tax practices (state/local, international, research and development) and credits and incentives.
