About the Role Baker Tilly is seeking a Federal Tax Partner to lead tax advisory and compliance services for Real Estate clients within the National Real Estate Practice. You will be a valued business advisor delivering industry-focused tax services and mentoring staff, with an ownership-oriented path in a fast-growing firm.
What You'll Do
- Lead Baker Tilly’s federal tax compliance and consulting efforts for construction and real estate clients, impacting clients through trusted tax leadership.
- Own day-to-day client relationships, ranging from middle market to multinational clients.
- Advise on technical matters across corporate and pass-through taxation, accounting methods, and ASC 740.
- Research tax issues, respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries, and propose client recommendations.
- Coordinate with specialty tax practices on state/local, international, credits and incentives, research and development, and other areas.
- Oversee federal and individual tax planning, review complex tax research related to business transactions for various entities and affiliates.
- Recommend business/process improvements based on client operations and objectives.
- Manage client engagement staffing, billing, collections, and profitability targets.
- Leverage entrepreneurial skills to network and develop internal and external relationships to secure new clients and projects; participate in RFPs.
- Partner with service line leadership to develop tax service market positioning, branding, strategy, and messaging.
- Invest in professional development and support the growth of team members; assist with recruitment.
- Demonstrate leadership, initiative, strong teamwork, and ethics.
- Represent the firm at key community events and firm functions.
