About the Role The Long Island University College of Veterinary Medicine (LIU-CVM) invites applications for a full-time Farm Animal Team Leader Caretaker at the College’s new 60-acre beef cattle facility in Yaphank, NY. The role centers on daily livestock care, farm upkeep, and preparation for LIU-CVM laboratories, with cross-training to cover weekends and holidays.
What You'll Do
- Provide daily care of livestock, monitor health and document illnesses or incidents; assist with emergencies affecting the animals.
- Manage feed and water, maintain bedding inventory, and track orders to ensure uninterrupted supply; maintain records and identify livestock.
- Keep barns, stalls, fences, gates, pens, and related infrastructure clean, orderly, and in good repair; ensure proper confinement and animal safety.
