About the Role The incumbent is responsible for implementing the family services, health, and family/community engagement content for the assigned Head Start center. This role reports to the center director and supports families through education, case management, and building strong community partnerships to promote children's development. What You'll Do
- Demonstrate the highest standards of personnel integrity, truthfulness, honesty, and fortitude to inspire confidence in the Community Action movement.
- Support the mission and philosophy of the Head Start program; work with families without judgment or bias, recognizing and respecting individual differences and backgrounds.
- Build positive, strength-based partnerships with parents; coach families in identifying and pursuing family development goals; support families in creating and implementing family plans.
- Be familiar with all content areas of the Head Start Program Performance Standards; carry out responsibilities described in the plans.
- Provide parent education in health & safety, nutrition, mental health, disabilities, parenting, and budgeting; maintain communication with parents regarding screening/assessment results; document services provided.
- Complete at least 3 visits per year with assigned families focusing on family goals, identifying needs, and connecting to community resources.
- Ensure an ongoing schedule of contacts with assigned families every 4-6 weeks to monitor needs, progress toward goals, and engagement.
- Provide ongoing family support and case management to address identified needs, crises, referrals, and follow-up.
- Create a plan for recruiting families for all program options with support of the ERSEA Coordinator and other Head Start family service staff; include open houses, resource fairs, and community activities to promote collaboration.
- Act as a liaison and advocate between the community and the Child Development program; maintain relationships with local resources and attend appropriate community meetings as assigned.
- Maintain organization of family files; keep records up to date per CAPHR and Child Development procedures; responsible for data entry and tracking of health, nutrition, and assessment data using the Child Plus system; compile data for the PIR.
- Implement health content to ensure every enrolled child is up to date with well-child care according to NH EPSDT including necessary follow-up. What We're Looking For
- Familiarity with Head Start Program Performance Standards and content areas.
- Experience in family services, case management, and community engagement.
- Ability to provide parent education on health, safety, nutrition, mental health, disabilities, parenting, and budgeting.
- Strong communication with parents; ability to document services and track health, nutrition, and assessment data.
- Experience with data entry using the Child Plus system and compiling PIR data.
- Ability to plan and execute recruitment activities for multiple program options with ERSEA coordination.
- Strong liaison and partnership-building skills with community resources.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain family files and records per program procedures. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: 20.83 to 24.03 per hour; Based on Education and Experience.
