Offit Kurman is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney with 5–10 years of experience to join our growing Family Law practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background handling a broad range of matrimonial and family law matters, exceptional legal writing skills, and the ability to independently manage cases while collaborating with attorneys across multiple practice areas.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in a wide range of family law matters, including separation, divorce, child custody, spousal and child support, and equitable distribution of marital property.
• Handle matters involving the confirmation of arbitration awards.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, agreements, and other legal documents with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Manage cases through all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, negotiations, and court appearances.
• Provide strategic legal counsel to clients while navigating complex and sensitive family law matters.
• Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to handle matters beyond traditional family law, including related litigation and other legal disputes as needed.
• Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups to deliver comprehensive legal solutions to clients.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

• 5–10 years of substantive family law experience.

• Active New York Bar admission required; New Jersey Bar admission is a plus.

• Strong experience handling contested matrimonial and family law matters.

• Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

• Ability to independently manage a caseload and handle complex legal matters.

• Strong communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.

• Willingness to expand beyond traditional family law matters and assist with other areas of litigation.
