Job title: Faculty – Veterinary Anesthesiology
About the Role LIU College of Veterinary Medicine (LIU-CVM) in Brookville, NY invites applications for a faculty position in veterinary anesthesiology. The role may be full-time (tenure or clinical track) or part-time/locum, with responsibilities spanning clinical and didactic teaching, curriculum development, and service. The position also involves contributing to research and scholarly goals and collaborating with LIU-CVM partner/affiliate hospitals.
What You'll Do
- Provide clinical and didactic teaching in anesthesiology and participate in small animal surgery course laboratories.
- Promote LIU-CVM’s mission through teaching excellence, service, and collaboration with stakeholders.
- Actively engage in curriculum development, identify or create innovative learning resources, and participate in committee work (admissions, curriculum, research, etc.) as appropriate for both clinical and tenure-track faculty.
- For full-time tenure-track faculty, contribute to the College’s research and scholarly goals and develop independent or collaborative research in veterinary anesthesiology within and outside LIU, including work with LIU-CVM partner/affiliate hospitals.
- Serve as course director of the anesthesiology course to be delivered during the third year of the DVM program.
What We're Looking For
- DVM or equivalent degree with expertise in anesthesiology.
- Specialty board certification or eligibility by the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (or equivalent).
- Advanced training in anesthesiology; research experience; PhD is desirable.
- Ability to promote a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion and to interact effectively with university administration, faculty, staff, students and alumni.
Nice to Have
- Experience as course director or in curriculum leadership is a plus.
- PhD in anesthesiology or a related field is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: USD 120,001 – 175,000 per year.
