About the Role

Part-time faculty position in the Department of Specialty Dentistry responsible for development and implementation of the predoctoral orthodontics curriculum in the DDS program, including didactic, preclinical, and clinical teaching, with occasional support for patient care as needed. This is a non-tenure position; faculty rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The role operates within NEOMED's collaborative, team-oriented environment aligned with the university's mission. What You'll Do

  • Develop and deliver the orthodontics curriculum for dental students in the DDS program, including course development, student assessments for classroom, preclinical simulation, and clinical instruction across the DDS curriculum.

  • Provide occasional patient-care support as needed.

  • Actively participate on college and university committees; engage with state and national professional dental organizations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For

  • DDS/DMD or equivalent; must be eligible for licensure in Ohio for a Dentist License or a Limited Dental Teaching License; qualified to be appointed as a faculty member in the College of Dentistry (rank commensurate with qualifications); clinical proficiency in orthodontics.

  • Preferred: CODA-approved residency in orthodontics; teaching experience and curriculum development at the predoctoral level; interest in educational innovation and openness to new educational approaches; knowledge of CODA accreditation; board eligibility or certification by the American Board of Orthodontics is preferred but not required.

  • Collaborative: ability to work with administrators, faculty, staff, and students at the college and the university.

  • Humanistic Environment: commitment to building a humanistic culture/climate and fostering student success. Nice to Have

  • Residency: Certificate of advanced education in orthodontics from a CODA-approved residency.

  • Teaching experience in curriculum development and predoctoral education.

  • Familiarity with CODA accreditation processes and ongoing compliance.

  • ABO board eligibility or certification preferred but not required. Compensation & Benefits
