About the Role The Long Island University College of Veterinary Medicine (LIU-CVM) invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Large Animal Surgery (predominantly equine). The position may be filled at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level and can be clinical-track or tenure-track. Primary responsibilities include clinical and didactic teaching in the equine medicine course and equine laboratories; no clinical duty is required, though opportunities with affiliate practices may be available. The chosen candidate will contribute to LIU-CVM’s teaching, scholarly, and service missions and help advance the College's education and research programs.

What You'll Do

• Provide clinical and didactic teaching in the equine medicine course and equine laboratories.
• Engage in curriculum development, identify or create innovative learning resources, and participate in committee service (admissions, curriculum, research, etc.) for both clinical and tenure-track faculty.
• Develop independent or collaborative research in Large Animal Surgery, potentially with LIU-CVM partners/affiliate veterinary hospitals.
• Serve as the course director of the large animal surgery/equine surgery course and promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.
• Interact effectively with university administration, the veterinary education community, faculty, students, and alumni.

What We're Looking For

• DVM or equivalent degree; expertise in large animal surgery/equine surgery.
• Specialty board certification/eligibility by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS LA) or equivalent preferred.
• Advanced training in large animal/equine surgery and/or large animal surgery/equine surgery research with an MS or PhD preferred.
• Working knowledge of curricular design and implementation; ability to promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusiveness and to interact well with administration, the veterinary education community, faculty, students, and alumni.
• The candidate will be the course director of the large animal surgery/equine surgery course.

Nice to Have

• MS or PhD in a relevant field.
• Additional advanced training in large animal surgery research and/or prior experience in curriculum leadership or teaching roles.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: USD 120,001–175,000 per year.
• Start date: As soon as possible.
