JOB PURPOSE
- The post holder is required to provide effective, timely and proactive Facilities support under the supervision of Facilities Manager in maintaining the safety of the school’s buildings, grounds, and physical infrastructure. This role ensures that the facility is safe, clean, and conducive to learning, while adhering to HSE regulations and best practices. The appointed candidate with have a strong engineering background.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Ensuring the buildings, grounds and infrastructure are safe, compliant and welcoming to students, staff and visitors
- Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and minor works
- Report larger maintenance issues promptly to the Facilities Manager.
- Assist with setting up rooms, furniture, and equipment for school events and classes.
- Ensure indoor and outdoor areas are tidy and safe.
- Assist with waste management and recycling.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and compliance checks.
- Ensure adherence to all HSE regulations and school safety policies.
- Manage and monitor contractors and service providers to ensure quality and compliance.
- Keep accurate maintenance and inspection records.
- Follow all health and safety policies and report hazards or incidents immediately.
- Assist in conducting regular safety checks, including fire alarms, maintenance of Ac’s and emergency lighting
- Help ensure safe storage of tools, chemicals, and equipment.

- Undertake such training as may be reasonably required by the School to adapt to the changing requirements of the School or as may be necessary to fulfil the School’s statutory or regulatory obligations.

Qualifications

Essential

Relevant qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering (MEP), Facilities Management, Engineering or a related discipline.

Relevant HSE/Health & Safety certification.

Relevant professional or technical qualification appropriate to facilities management.

Desirable

Degree or HND/HNC in Engineering, Facilities Management or a related discipline. · NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent recognised HSE qualification.

Demonstrable experience in facilities management or building services.
