Job title: Facilities Operations Technician 1
About the Role The Facilities Operations Technician 1 will be part of the facilities operations and process support teams. The role supports operation, maintenance, repair and project activities for equipment and related areas. The position will transition to a 12-hour shift after orientation and training.
What You'll Do
- Support facilities operations, maintenance, repairs and projects for assigned areas with technical knowledge and hands-on assistance.
- Perform daily tasks and manage workloads assigned.
- Maintain utility infrastructure safety, reliability and capacity.
- Provide technical expertise to meet daily operations targets and production goals.
- Ensure all deliverables comply with associated contract documents, codes, and regulations.
- Assist in chemical transfers and the containment/disposal of hazardous materials.
- Operate mobile equipment such as a scissor lift, forklifts, aerial lifts, side-by-sides, hand-jacks, and other equipment as required.
What We're Looking For
- Education: High School Diploma or GED. Technical Certificate or degree desired but not required. 1-2 years of related work experience.
- Knowledge/skills: Positive attitude, open minded, and team player; strong safety acumen; ability to mentor & develop team members on key technical information & requirements; multi-craft technical skills (electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and general maintenance); strong knowledge of industrial utility and infrastructure systems; ability to work from heights or in confined spaces; effective oral and written communication and presentation skills; ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other computer programs related to maintaining and tracking equipment status; basic math and reading comprehension; critical thinking, problem solving, attention to detail, decision making and troubleshooting abilities; ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications; ability to monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure equipment is working properly; ability to multitask and balance multiple projects simultaneously; works well within a collaborative environment; ability to balance the wants / needs of the customer with Facilities Operational requirements; steam boiler experience a plus.
- Other: Additional requirements include ability to work in office, shop and outdoor environments; 12-hour Pitman schedule; PPE requirements (respirators, chemical and Tyvek suits, safety glasses, hard hat, face shield, gloves, chemical boots); ability to lift up to 40 lbs; must work in various weather conditions; flexibility to work adjusted shifts as necessary; must be able to speak and read English; Korean language proficiency a plus; may require up to 5% travel (domestic or international).
