CBRE is seeking a Facilities Manager to support the Charter Hall office portfolio in Canberra. We're keeping the brief broad and are interested in experienced Facilities Managers as well as candidates with strong commercial property, building services or technical operations experience who are ready for their next move.
You'll help keep premium CBD office environments operating safely, efficiently and reliably, balancing day-to-day building performance with contractor management, compliance, occupier needs and clear client reporting. The focus is practical: know your buildings, stay close to service delivery and make sure issues are followed through.
The Opportunity:
- Manage day-to-day facilities and building operations across the nominated property or properties.
- Coordinate service contractors and monitor performance, maintenance programs and rectification works.
- Maintain compliance across WHS, essential services, statutory requirements, building safety and risk programs.
- Monitor plant and building services performance, investigate service issues and coordinate practical solutions.
- Support operating expenditure budgets, monthly variance commentary and capital expenditure programs.
- Build productive relationships with Charter Hall, tenants, service partners and CBRE colleagues.
- Prepare accurate operational reporting and maintain the documentation required for effective building management.
- Support tenancy works and fitouts, contractor access and continuous improvement across building operations.
About you:
You're practical, organised and comfortable being visible in the building. You know how to work with contractors and stakeholders, keep on top of compliance and follow operational issues through to resolution. You may already be a Facilities Manager, or you may be coming from a strong building services, engineering, maintenance or commercial property background with the experience to step into broader FM accountability.
You will bring:
- Experience in facilities management, commercial property, building services, engineering or a related operational environment.
- Working knowledge of building services, planned and reactive maintenance, contractor management and workplace safety.
- An understanding of statutory compliance, essential services and operational risk in a property environment.
- Confidence communicating with clients, tenants, contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to balance competing operational priorities.
- Highly regarded: A property, technical or facilities qualification, or a relevant trade background.
So, what's in it for you?
- A Canberra CBD role centred on premium commercial office environments.
- Direct exposure to the Charter Hall portfolio and the operational detail that drives building performance.
- Broad facilities scope spanning contractors, compliance, budgets, reporting and occupier service.
- An opportunity suitable for established FMs and experienced building operations candidates ready to broaden their remit.
- Access to CBRE's Australian commercial real estate platform and property expertise.
