Job title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

About the Role The Facilities Maintenance Technician will support Hyundai's Facilities Engineering department by performing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing maintenance on utility equipment and facility systems. This role includes corrective, scheduled, and preventive maintenance on air compressors, HVAC units, piping, chillers, cooling towers, generators, and related infrastructure, as well as responding to service tickets and work requests.

What You'll Do

  • Visually inspect utility equipment and facility issues to identify malfunctions, wear, misalignment, defective parts, and deterioration.
  • Dismantle machines and equipment to access problem areas and perform repairs using hand tools, power tools, and blueprints/diagrams/service manuals.
  • Repair and maintain mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components of generation equipment (air compressors, dryers, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, HVAC systems).
  • Repair facility equipment such as overhead doors, dock doors (including controls, levelers, and pit bulls).
  • Follow blueprints and specifications; use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment for maintenance with good workmanship.
  • Repair broken metal parts using cutting, brazing, soldering, welding, grinders, and hand tools.
  • Respond to work requests and service calls, performing tasks to support the organization.
  • Perform daily inspections for doors, site lights, and substation checklists.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts, and specifications to ensure system integrity.
  • Assist Facilities Engineering Specialists/Management with project support, troubleshooting, sketches or computer-generated designs.
  • Set up and operate metalworking tools (lathe, drill press, grinder) to fabricate repair parts.
  • Start machines and equipment to test operation after repair; support safety equipment turnover process.
  • Operate various powered equipment according to HMMA standards.
  • Rotate between different shifts and maintenance jobs within the plant; overtime may be required (>40 hours/week).
  • Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
  • Meet all other requirements as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED; 2-year technical degree in Industrial Technology, Industrial Electricity, or Industrial Electronics preferred.
  • Related Experience: 1–3 years of job-related experience; multi-skilled preferred.
  • Skills/Capabilities: Electricity & electrical applications; HVAC systems; ability to read blueprints/drawings; strong mechanical aptitude; familiarity with preventive maintenance and safety standards.
