Job title: Facilities Instrumentation and Controls Technician
About the Role Wolfspeed is seeking a Facilities Instrumentation and Controls Technician to maintain and upgrade instrumentation and controls for facilities equipment. This role reports to the I&C department manager and collaborates with Facility Operations and Engineers to implement new systems and upgrades, with opportunities for on-the-job training and professional growth.
What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot programming and system faults for plant FMCS equipment; modify existing programs to improve sequencing, add/modify/remove alarms, and aid in troubleshooting within PLCs, HMIs, and automated systems using Rockwell RSLogix 500, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk Asset Center, Wonderware and Ignition software.
- Perform calibrations of Flow, Level, Temperature, Pressure, and Humidity Transmitters using approved test equipment.
- Work with Facilities Operations, Mechanical, Electrical, Process and I&C Engineers to correct deficiencies and issues across multiple sites.
- Perform PID loop tuning and adjustments.
- Read and comprehend blueprints and electrical control panel schematics.
- Help maintain instrument as-built and procedural documentation, and inventory of spare parts.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; minimum 5 years of related industry experience.
- Experience with troubleshooting electrical controls and instrument calibrations.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction; general knowledge of low voltage and associated maintenance equipment and systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to wear appropriate PPE and work around hazardous materials.
- Physical ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs; work in non-climate-controlled environments; repetitive motions; standing or walking on hard surfaces; climbing ladders.
