Facilities Engineering Technician 2

About the Role Volt is seeking a Facilities Engineering Technician 2 in Milpitas, CA to repair, maintain, and optimize building and facilities systems. The role covers mechanical, electrical, plumbing and automation controls, with a focus on preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and supporting day-to-day facility operations. What You'll Do

• Repair, modify, and perform preventive maintenance on building and facilities equipment, fixtures and systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery or equipment.
• Air balance for clean rooms or facilities; maintain boilers, chillers, cooling towers, clean steam generators, backup generators, etc.
• Manage automated controls for equipment such as RO/DI loops; maintain meters and monitor BAS system functions.
• Troubleshoot, respond to work orders, repair systems and equipment; replace defective components and wiring; adjust mechanical parts.
• Align, calibrate and test equipment; calibrate testing instruments; maintain records of repairs, calibrations and tests.
• Enter information into computer to copy programs or modify/store schematics; oversee emergency system backup.
• Ensure plumbing, sewer, water, electrical and mechanical systems are functional; respond to service calls and in-house repairs; install office fixtures and move furniture.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance; breakdown equipment for cleanup; coordinate with operators to identify problems and determine cause. What We're Looking For
• 6-12 months in the maintenance trades or on-the-job training; working knowledge of shop math; ability to utilize tools and measuring instruments.
• Associate degree or related certifications preferred.
• Demonstrates technical skills; competency related to function/process knowledge; awareness of Volt’s technologies/techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret documents; write routine reports and correspondence; present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Proficient in basic math (rate, ratio, percent) and problem solving; ability to apply common sense to instructions.
• A Journeyman’s license in electrical or mechanical trade is desired. Nice to Have
• AutoCAD familiarity; Building Automation System (BAS) experience.
• forklift/pallet jack experience.
• Familiarity with Volt’s technologies. Compensation & Benefits
