About the Role TELUS Health Care Centres is hiring for an on-site Emergency Response and PPE Facilitator role in Thompson, MB. You will provide emergency medical response services in a mining environment, perform first aid, manage PPE training, and support confidentiality and client privacy. What You'll Do
- Provide Emergency Response Services in a mining environment.
- Protect client privacy and maintain confidentiality of personal health information.
- Assess injuries and medical conditions (occupational and non-occupational) and provide appropriate treatment or refer to the appropriate team.
- Administer first aid and medical emergency care.
- Demonstrate and teach Industry Standard Alcohol and Drug testing proficiencies and PPE programs.
- Facilitate PPE training and ensure proper PPE distribution.
- Initiate emergency notification and call-out to mine, fire, and rope rescue teams.
- Compile, distribute safety reports and maintain distribution lists.
- Verify patient demographics and pertinent medical/injury history; collect/enter demographics and PPE data.
- Maintain well-stocked first aid rooms and daily supplies. What We're Looking For
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and professional client interactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Valid driver license and ability to work in high-pressure situations.
- Professional image, mature communication, tact, and respect for confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities; able to work independently.
- Self-starter with attention to detail, sound judgment, and accountability.
- Ability to be a solid team member in a leading healthcare center delivering client-specific services. Nice to Have
- EMR certification (asset; training provided to acquire certification).
- Experience/training in DOT drug testing and Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT).
- PPE program facilitation and safety reporting experience. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $20-$37 hourly.
