Location: Herndon, Virginia (50% travel)

Job Description

A Systems Integration Engineer is sought to join a team shaping the future of U.S. airspace operations. In this role, you will ensure that FAA National Airspace Systems are upgraded in a timely manner.

Work Location

This position is onsite in Herndon with the potential for up to 50% travel. You must be able to travel up to 50% of the time to support deployments at CONUS and potentially OCONUS locations.

Your Impact

The team of technologists and aviation experts supports the FAA update of new systems to the National Airspace System (NAS). Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating activities to complete the installation of situational displays at Air Traffic Facilities.
• Providing supporting documentation related to site-specific activities, such as site design documentation and site completion reports.
• Complying with all FAA facility requirements (security, workspace availability) and professionally managing all site staff relationships.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain FAA Suitability.
• Bachelor’s degree and 12 years’ experience, or an Associate’s degree and 14 years’ experience, or a HS diploma/equivalent and 16 years’ experience.
• Deployment coordination and/or project management experience with governmental customers.
• Hardware and software deployment/installation experience.
• Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time for deployments to both CONUS and potentially OCONUS locations.
• Proficiency in creating documents, network diagrams, and/or rack elevations using tools such as Visio and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with National Airspace System (NAS) architecture and modernization initiatives (e.g., NextGen).

• Experience supporting FAA, DOT, or other aviation or transportation programs.

• Red Hat Linux experience.

• Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.

• Desktop support experience with Windows laptops.
