The Opportunity

Take Your Career Further

This is more than just a job – it is a chance to propel your career forward while making an impact on projects that matter. Whether you are improving infrastructure, enhancing sustainability efforts, or contributing to innovative field programs, you will be shaping a better world.

Based in our Calgary office, you will support WSP’s wind and solar field services team with the installation and maintenance of meteorological towers and related systems. This field-based opportunity involves frequent travel to remote project locations across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and elsewhere in Canada, where your practical skills and commitment to safety will help advance renewable energy projects.

Your Impact

Install and maintain wind and solar meteorological towers, remote sensing devices, power supplies, communications systems, and related field equipment.

Maintain vehicles, trailers, hand and power tools, and field supplies so crews can work safely and efficiently in remote locations.

Carry out physically demanding field activities, including lifting and material handling, while following approved procedures and site requirements.

Contribute actively to WSP’s safety program by following direction, identifying hazards, and protecting yourself, colleagues, clients, and communities.

Document site activities through accurate digital notes and photographs, then communicate progress and issues to field supervisors and project managers.

Build practical renewable-energy expertise through daily project work and shared technical knowledge.

The

Skills

  • That Set You Apart

  • Availability for frequent travel to remote locations across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Canada, extended assignments, long field days, and a typical 5-days-on, 2-days-off schedule that may change with project needs.

  • Capacity to complete physically demanding work safely, including lifting more than 50 lb and loading, unloading, entering, and exiting trucks, trailers, and facilities.

  • A valid driver licence and a clean driver abstract; experience driving half-ton to one-ton trucks while towing 16- to 20-foot trailers over 500 to 1,000 km is an asset.

  • Readiness to work outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions and to complete training for work at heights, lattice-tower climbing, and rope-based activities.

  • Ability to follow field direction, communicate clearly with supervisors and project managers, maintain accurate digital records, and remain accountable for assigned work.

  • Experience or interest in meteorological towers, data loggers, remote sensing, off-grid power, satellite, cellular or radio communications, unmanned aerial vehicles, photography, CAD, metal fabrication, meteorological sensors, or small-engine repair is an asset.
