About this role

About the Role Join Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering’s Temporary Works Group as an Experienced Structural Engineer. You’ll contribute to innovative design, calculations, and planning for temporary structures, with on-site coordination to support construction and ensure safety and project success. What You'll Do

  • Develop drawings and calculations for temporary works and construction methods including heavy lift plans, site logistics, equipment selection, geometry/feasibility studies, design of rigging and lifting devices, hoisting/jacking systems, custom tools, and crane pad/working surface designs
  • Prepare erection procedures or planned sequences related to construction or demolition operations
  • Evaluate existing structures for construction loads and/or demolition planning
  • Perform structural analysis to ensure stability during the temporary condition of new bridges, viaducts, buildings, tunnels, and other structures (e.g., construction staging, temporary falsework systems, rebar cage hoisting and support)
  • Support excavation systems or cofferdams for construction below grade
  • Design temporary bridges, trestles, work platforms, fall protection systems, formwork, and related features
  • Perform and/or review others’ calculations and drawings according to industry codes, standards, client criteria, and structural theories
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of design deliverables; identify design risks and assist with mitigation planning
  • Assist in Project Management (budgets, schedules, quality control, client coordination)
  • Provide on-site design engineering support, on-site inspections, and mentoring of E.I.T.’s What We're Looking For
  • Accredited BS in Civil or Structural Engineering; MS in Structural Engineering preferred
  • 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Professional Engineer licensure or eligibility in the United States
  • Strong knowledge of structural engineering and temporary structures/construction engineering
  • Proficiency with design software: AutoCAD, BlueBeam, MathCAD, Navisworks, RISA-3D
  • Experience working in a team setting with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to travel/TDY or relocate as needed
  • Ability to access construction sites in varied climates and environments Nice to Have
  • Master’s degree or greater in Structural Engineering
  • PE licensure preferred (or eligibility) and related certifications
