Job Summary
- Create functionally safe and aesthetically pleasing architectural designs for buildings and structures while also adhering to the company's vision and market demands.
Duties & Responsibilities / Deliverables
Design and Planning:
- Create detailed blueprints and plans for building projects.
- This involves not only the aesthetic design but also ensuring functionality and compliance with local building codes and regulations.
Project Management:
- Oversee the construction process to ensure that the project is built according to the approved designs.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to manage timelines, budgets, and project deliverables.
Client Consultation:
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budget constraints, and translate their requirements into feasible and functional designs.
Sustainability:
- Develop environmentally sustainable designs, including the use of green materials, energy-efficient solutions, and sustainable construction practices.
Innovation:
- Continuously explore innovative approaches to improve building methods, materials, and designs.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the construction industry.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure the safety of building occupants by ensuring that designs comply with all applicable safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
Aesthetic Appeal:
- Create structures that are both aesthetically appealing and functional, while ensuring that the design aligns with the client's vision and project requirements.
Problem-Solving:
- Identify and resolve a variety of challenges that may arise during the design and construction process, including structural issues, design modifications, and unexpected changes in project scope.
Collaboration:
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including engineers, contractors, urban planners, interior designers, and other professionals.
- Effective collaboration is essential to the successful delivery of projects.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture from a reputable university.
- A professional qualification will be an added advantage.
- PMP Certification is desirable.
- Certified membership of ARCON and other relevant professional bodies.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Project.
- Minimum of 15 years of cognate experience.
- Age between 40 and 55 years.
- Proven experience in construction supervision.
- Experience in developing, upgrading, and amending building structures.
- Experience in the design and development of commercial office and residential buildings.
- Proven track record in the development and implementation of strategic management, operational reviews, and project management delivery.
