About the Role The Exercise Science faculty at Taylor University teach a range of courses and contribute to university-wide interdisciplinary health initiatives, including cardiac rehab, diabetes and chronic disease management, and obesity prevention. The appointee will teach courses, contribute to ongoing student-faculty research, and engage in advising, governance, and professional service; there is potential to work on interdisciplinary health science projects and outreach.
What You'll Do
- Teach courses such as Physiology of Exercise, Applied Nutrition, Research Methods, Physical Fitness Assessment, Physical Fitness Prescription, Lifespan Physiology, EKG, Biomechanics, and related general education courses.
- Develop and maintain an active program of faculty-mentored student research.
- Participate in student advising, faculty governance, and professional service; engage in professional societies.
- Engage in interdisciplinary and outreach-oriented health science activities; supervise/mentor students in health-related interdisciplinary initiatives.
- Conduct research in health-related interdisciplinary initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Earned doctorate in Exercise Science or related field; ABD considered.
- Excellence in teaching with integration of faith into classroom and discipline.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Preference given to candidates with extensive face-to-face teaching and research or clinical experience in Exercise Science or related field.
- Interest/ability to contribute to interdisciplinary and mission-focused initiatives.
Nice to Have
- Extensive face-to-face teaching and research or clinical experience in Exercise Science or related field (preferred).

- Salary information not disclosed in posting; reflects a full-time faculty appointment. The Kinesiology Department offers majors in Exercise Science and Human Physiology and Preventive Medicine, with 6 full-time faculty, housed in the Eichling Aquatics Wing of the Kesler Student Activities Center.
