About the Role Zurich is looking for an Executive Underwriter or AVP, Underwriting Director – Large Casualty to join the National Account, Large Casualty Team in the West Region. The role supports the Southern California Territory with offices in Los Angeles and Irvine, and focuses on profitable production growth and renewal retention of Large Casualty business through evaluating, pricing and negotiating highly complex large-scale commercial risks while cultivating broker and client relations. What You'll Do
- Underwrite, analyze, and generate new and renewal business for Large Casualty within the National Accounts division.
- Be market-facing and drive production within the Large Casualty, National Accounts division.
- Administer and monitor underwriting rules, guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manual rules.
- Develop and maintain broker relationships in the Southern California Territory.
- Work within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments. What We're Looking For
- Executive Underwriter – Large Casualty basic requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5+ years of experience in underwriting or market facing; OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10+ years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support; OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3+ years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area; OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8+ years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area AND Knowledge of Microsoft Office; Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business; Experience working in a team environment.
- AVP, Underwriting Director – Large Casualty basic requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7+ years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area; OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14+ years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area; OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5+ years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area; OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 12+ years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area; AND Experience with Microsoft Office. - Bachelor’s Degree; Experience in Large Casualty underwriting; Strong verbal and written communication skills.
