About the Role The Executive Underwriter will assume responsibility for underwriting the Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, and Auto Liability primary Casualty product lines and typically manages the most complex accounts. The role focuses on developing underwriting strategies for renewals and prospects, communicating risk appetite, and collaborating across distribution and other lines to grow portfolio share. What You'll Do
- Underwrite Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, and Auto Liability primary Casualty product lines for complex accounts.
- Develop and manage underwriting strategies for renewals and prospects within the portfolio.
- Increase portfolio share through knowledge of current market penetration and targeted plans.
- Develop and implement negotiation strategies.
- Make independent sales calls to market and cross-market products.
- Identify target markets, design strategies for lead development, and build prospect lists.
- Provide technical direction to management, junior specialists, producers, and claims personnel.
- Communicate risk appetite and AIGRM Value Proposition to brokers.
- Collaborate with Distribution, Territory Managers, and other line underwriters to target desirable accounts and cross-sell from brokers.
- Rapidly evaluate, prioritize, and select submissions for underwriting.
- Recognize and create cross-sell opportunities for other Commercial products.
- Collaborate with brokers to understand deal structure, terms, and AIG Services that best meet clients’ needs.
- Review, evaluate, and make recommendations to underwriting guidelines; may direct internal underwriting audits.
- Negotiate pricing, terms & conditions, and deal structure with brokers and clients.
- Participate in special underwriting projects as needed. What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of Commercial Insurance Company, Agency, or Brokerage experience.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Advanced working knowledge of US Casualty lines of business (Workers’ Compensation, Auto Liability, and General Liability) including product features, forms, regulatory environments, and risks.
- Demonstrated sales, marketing, and relationship-building experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated and results oriented.
- Ability to work in dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions.

- Base salary for Illinois: $104,600-$127,600; eligible for a bonus under the applicable incentive plan.
