About the Role Executive Director, Legal, Compliance & Security for Ansys Government Initiatives (AGI), reporting to the VP and GM. This role leads the legal, compliance, and security functions for AGI and drives compliance across federal and commercial contracting for software, SaaS, and advanced technology solutions. The role requires strategic leadership to translate complex regulatory obligations into scalable, operational processes that enable growth while protecting enterprise assets and contractual integrity.

What You'll Do

• Lead and oversee the legal, compliance, and security programs for AGI, ensuring alignment with business objectives and government requirements.
• Translate regulatory obligations into operational processes across Sales, Product, Security, and Executive Leadership, balancing speed with compliance.
• Manage risk in federal and commercial landscapes, navigating FAR/DFARS, agency supplements, data rights, and software-specific clauses with precision.
• Oversee NISPOM obligations, enterprise cyber controls, internal investigations, and government contract authorities.
• Build and mature scalable legal, compliance, and security functions that align with business growth and evolving regulations.
• Partner with prime contractors and government contracting officers; participate in negotiations in boardrooms and working sessions.
• Ensure enterprise-wide alignment of security posture with product and program needs while protecting assets and contractual integrity.

What We're Looking For

• Strategic, business-focused attorney and compliance leader with an active U.S. security clearance and deep expertise in government and commercial contracting for software, SaaS, and advanced technology solutions.
• Command of the regulatory environment governing high-security, high-consequence technologies—spanning federal acquisition, cyber requirements, and national security frameworks.
• Ability to transform complex legal and regulatory obligations into operationally sound business processes and cross-functional workflows.
• Track record of managing risk in federal and commercial landscapes; experience with FAR/DFARS, agency supplements, data rights, and software-specific clauses.
• Deep experience overseeing corporate compliance programs, including NISPOM obligations, enterprise cyber controls, internal investigations, and government contract authorities.
• Demonstrated leadership to build and mature legal, compliance, and security functions that scale with a growing business.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, independent judgment, and strong collaboration across Sales, Product, Security, and Executive leadership.
• Comfortable in boardrooms and negotiations with prime contractors and government contracting officers.
