About the Role The Provincial Government of Gauteng (Department of Education) invites applications for Examinations Assistants / Quality Assurers. You will be based at Exams District & Head Offices and at Marking Centres to manage the lifecycle of examination scripts from receipt to archival, and to support marking operations. What You'll Do
- Examinations Assistants: Receive, check, control and scan scripts; pack scripts for marking; ensure correct numbers of scripts and marksheets per batch, subject, paper and session; address discrepancies; prepare marking centre files; assist with dispatching scripts; archive after marking; receive and archive marked scripts at Head Office for easy retrieval.
- Quality Assurers: At Marking Centres, receive, control and distribute scripts; ensure correct numbers and marksheets per batch; assist with scanning; verify that questions are marked and marks transferred to front cover and marksheet; resolve discrepancies; reconcile and index archival after marking. What We're Looking For
- Grade 12 / Senior Certificate / National Senior Certificate / National Senior Certificate Vocational.
- Numerical skills with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy at Grade 12 level.
- Second year and above tertiary students will be advantaged; registered students at tertiary institutions or unemployed with one or more tertiary qualifications or unemployed graduates may apply.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Previous experience in examinations administration as an Examination Assistant / Quality Assurer is an advantage (District Office / Marking Centre or Office based).
