Job title: Event Scripting Designer

About the Role As part of the Level Design family, the Event Scripting Designer will work closely with Level Designers to conceptualize and integrate scripted events and cinematic sequences into the engine throughout the production process, in collaboration with the animation, programming, sound, and level art groups.

What You'll Do

  • Be aware of the game and level design documents to understand the overall game experience.
  • Work directly with quest designers to conceptualize impactful narrative events and define key realization needs for compelling storytelling.
  • Understand intentions regarding cutscenes and cinematics, including the associated events and narrative flow.
  • Determine feasibility of scripted events in line with expectations and technical constraints.
  • Integrate animated, gameplay and interactive objects as well as scripted cameras in collaboration with Level Design.
  • Test cinematic scenes and scripted events to ensure proper integration without conflicts with other game elements.
  • Conduct R&D on cinematic systems when needed in collaboration with technical teams.

  • Proficiency with basic software tools such as word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of video games; good understanding and hands-on experience.
  • Time management skills; ability to organize own work and meet deadlines.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience with game development or game engines will be considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of level editing tools and scripting such as Unreal or other engines is a plus.
  • Experience in visual programming will be a plus.
  • Familiarity with 3D software such as Autodesk 3D Studio Max and MotionBuilder is a plus.

  • Experience with game engines and formal experience with level editing tools and scripting.
  • Knowledge of level editing tools and scripting such as Unreal or other engines.
  • Visual programming experience.
