About the Role
The Event Planner will provide event planning, coordination, and communications support to the Federal Transit Administration Office of Communications and Congressional Affairs. The role involves establishing project plans with milestones, coordinating logistics, and delivering onsite management to ensure successful events.
What You'll Do

Establish project plans with milestones for assigned events.

Provide bi-weekly updates to the events team (location research, quotes, and cost comparisons).

Provide written recommendations with pros and cons.

Demonstrate experience using Qualtrics, WebEx, and Windows operating systems.

Lead teams as needed and coordinate venues, site specifications, and room diagrams.

Determine room setup, staging logistics, and A/V needs; collaborate with vendors for setup and strike schedules.

Plan food and beverage requirements, menus, service times, durations, and breakdowns.

Manage onsite logistics and approve use/scheduling of multi-purpose rooms and lunchrooms.

Support other events management duties as assigned.

Travel up to 10% as required.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor’s degree; 5+ years of event planning/coordination experience (preferred).

Ability to work under deadline pressure, manage stress, and deliver professional results.

Willingness to work long hours and weekends as required by deliverables.

Strong written and oral communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Self-motivated with minimal supervision.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and experience with Qualtrics and WebEx.

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $80,000-$90,000 per year (exempt).

Benefits include company holidays, paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, and 401K with company match.
