Job title: Event Assistant - Fowler Events Center (On Call)
About the Role During Basketball season, typical work week will be 25 hours, with potential to work other sporting events and campus activities throughout the year. The Event Assistant – Fowler Events Center provides setup and teardown support for athletics facilities and equipment, assists with equipment maintenance and administrative tasks, and coordinates with University departments and vendors to ensure successful events. This role may oversee student workers and game day operations to help run events smoothly.
What You'll Do
- Assist with athletic events setup and teardown, including press tables, court equipment, bleachers, tables, chairs, barricades, A/V equipment, locker rooms, etc.
- Ensure all required game/practice equipment (scoreboards, goals, nets, play clocks, etc.) are operational and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Prepare locker rooms, press tables, front and back of house for games/practices for home team, visiting team, and officials.
- Oversee student workers engaged in day-to-day operation of the Events Center.
- Oversee chapel setup/tear down with student workers.
- Implement standard operating procedures for the Events Center.
- Regularly assess the facility and equipment for unsatisfactory or unsafe conditions and report observations for resolution.
- Request parts and supplies as needed to complete tasks.
- Work cooperatively with other Events Center staff and employees from other departments.
- Perform general custodial and janitorial tasks as necessary.
- Typical schedule during basketball season is around 25 hours per week, with potential to work other events and campus activities throughout the year.

- Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $16.00 — $20.00 per hour.
