About the Role As an Estimator with Kiewit Foundations Co., you will prepare, review, and present estimates for foundation scopes on heavy civil projects. You will perform quantity takeoffs, determine crew and equipment needs, assign production rates, and price all materials and items required for a complete cost estimate.

What You'll Do

• Prepare, review, and present estimates for foundation scopes on heavy civil construction projects.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for deep foundation-related work, including drilled shafts, piles, and other geotechnical solutions.
• Develop and apply production rates; assemble man/shift allocations and equipment requirements within estimates.
• Price all materials and other items required for a complete cost estimate; analyze subcontractor and material quotes.
• Review contract documents (specifications, drawings, reference information) and make informed assumptions when front-end estimating is based on conceptual designs.
• Identify bid qualification, risks, and assumptions; participate in estimate reviews and presentations with leadership.
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers; solicit bids and provide constructability input.
• Manage comparisons between self-perform estimates and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive bids.
• Travel up to 25% as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in engineering or construction management with emphasis on civil, structural, construction management, drafting, or related field (preferred).
• 3+ years’ experience in construction/estimating, preferably on heavy civil projects.
• Strong background in Excel and Construction Estimating Software.
• Excellent work ethic, interpersonal and organizational skills; effective verbal and written communication; leadership abilities.
• Ability to travel occasionally; work independently with minimal supervision; team player.
• Results-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities; effective cross-functional collaboration.
