Job title: Estimator
About the Role Join Webber, a Ferrovial subsidiary, as an Estimator to analyze, prepare and review bids for heavy civil projects (roadway, highway, bridge), including earthwork, utilities, mechanical piping, and amenities. You must have experience estimating on large ($50M+) projects utilizing all delivery methods, and be prepared to drive bid development across multiple teams.
What You'll Do
- Access cost effectiveness of products, projects or services. Track actual costs relative to bids as the project develops. Track actual commodities pricing for items that may impact cost before bid or during buy-out phase.
- Consult with clients, vendors and personnel in other departments to discuss project strategies, estimates and resolve conflicts.
- Confer with engineers, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Review plans and specifications for general compliance and standard industry practices for utility and water/wastewater treatment plant projects.
- Manage bidding correspondence and all required documents during bidding phase (Plans, Specifications, Bid Forms, RFIs, Clarifications, Addenda).
- Administer full cycle take-offs and pricing for assigned divisions, subcontractor coordination, and bid submittal, including 30-60% plans.
- Maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors using SmartBidNet.
- Prepare sub-bid analysis documents and electronic estimates, and produce management-ready planning documentation.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in all delivery methods – Hard Bid, CSP, CMAR, CMGC and Design Build.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or similar.
- Experience with estimating software such as AutoCAD, Primavera, Timberline, WinEst, etc.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Word.
- Ability to work largely independently, be self-motivated and manage multiple deadlines; ability to work as part of a team in pre-construction.
- Valid driver license for occasional travel.
