Job title: Equipment Student Coordinator – Football
About the Role The Equipment Student Coordinator – Football supports the University of La Verne football program by managing safety equipment and on-field gear, helping ensure players are properly equipped for practices and games, and assisting in game-day operations under the supervision of the Head Football Coach and equipment staff.
What You'll Do
- Equipment Distribution & Collection: Issue and collect football equipment including practice gear and uniforms; ensure athletes are properly equipped.
- Practice & Game Preparation: Set up and break down equipment for practices and games; prepare locker room and field equipment in advance.
- Equipment Management: Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment; identify damaged or unsafe gear and report; assist with repairs.
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory records; track issuance and returns; assist with ordering and restocking.
- Laundry Operations: Wash, dry, and organize uniforms; ensure timely turnaround.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Support travel, events, or special projects as directed.
What We're Looking For
- Education: High School Diploma or GED; enrolled ULV student.
- Experience/Knowledge: Basic knowledge of football rules, positions, equipment; ability to lift 25–50 lbs; strong work ethic, reliability, punctuality; ability to follow instructions and work in a team; good communication; organized.
- Skills: Organizational skills to manage inventory and distribution; ability to work independently in fast-paced environment.
- Availability: Able to be available for all scheduled practices and games.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in equipment management or athletics support roles.
- Experience in athletic/team environment; knowledge of equipment safety and maintenance.
- Strong communication and teamwork.
Compensation & Benefits
- Benefits: One hour of Paid Sick Leave per 30 hours, max 24 hours/year; 48 hours cap. 401k defined contribution plan; employee voluntary contributions; ACA medical coverage if average 30+ hours/week; Workers Compensation Insurance.
