About this role
Equipment Maintenance - Stamping Maintenance Manager leads stamping maintenance activities in Hyundai's Metaplant America stamping shop. This role coordinates, monitors, and executes specialized technical processes in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment to meet uptime, quality, and safety objectives. It also oversees budgets, spare parts, and team performance while collaborating across departments.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate, monitor, and perform specialized stamping maintenance activities in the maintenance department to meet company goals.
- Report on the status of assigned tasks at the beginning, during, and conclusion.
- Oversee shop-wide maintenance index (downtime, manpower, preventive maintenance, maintenance system, equipment improvements, safety/environment, skill levels).
- Prepare, execute, evaluate, and improve the annual operation plan.
- Foster teamwork through interviews, meetings, events, and collaboration with expatriates.
- Manage the production and downtime condition of the stamping shop.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule to support department shift rotation and urgent equipment issues outside normal hours.
- Ensure SAP and PM systems are updated daily based on stamping shop PM activities.
- Apply strong electrical and system engineering skills and general mechanical understanding.
- Maintain smooth relationships with external departments through effective communication.
- Budget & Spare Parts: Manage purchasing, distribution, and inventory control of maintenance materials (tools, subsidiary materials).
- Follow proper spare parts management system including R&R (PR, quotation, PO, parts receiving, organizing, issuing).
- Control the stamping maintenance budget (monthly planning and analysis, budget securing).
- Shop Member Management: Supervise and resolve conflicts; support recruitment, disciplinary actions, and performance appraisals.
- Clearly communicate direction and official information to team members.
- Evaluate and mentor shop members to encourage continuous improvement and enforce company policy.
What We're Looking For
- More than 10 years maintenance career in automated plants.
- Experience in managing more than 30 team members.
- Ability to understand drawings and specifications of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Technical college or equivalent experience in electrical or mechanical concentration.
- Troubleshooting ability for PLC-based automation equipment.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
